133-unit co-living project for Watkin Jones Group approved by Exeter City Council

The Watkin Jones Group has been granted planning permission by Exeter City Council for a 133-unit co-living development in the city centre on the site of a former ambulance station.

Co-living is a new concept for Exeter and is designed to help retain a skilled workforce in the city by providing young professionals, key workers and graduates with comfortable private accommodation alongside communal space. The Gladstone Road site in Heavitree presents an optimum location for co-living; within easy reach of major employers such as the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, the Met Office and Exeter Science Park and also Exeter city centre’s facilities and amenities.

KOR provided public affairs advice to the Watkin Jones Group and facilitated key meetings from the early stages of the project to provide a clear overview of the political, economic and social landscape of the city.  In addition, we have provided public, stakeholder and media relations support.

Planning consultants for the application were Bell Cornwell, and the architects were Manson Architects.
