Public consultation for Exeter College’s masterplan

Exeter College commissioned the services of KOR to lead on a public consultation on its proposed 20-year masterplan for the city centre campus, paving the way for a £70 million investment into education.

A previous consultation had not satisfied Exeter City Council’s requirements and so a thorough process was required, which engaged the community more effectively.

KOR worked closely with the project team, which included planning consultants, architects, highways and ecology consultants, to produce an exhibition of the plans. A stakeholder mapping exercise ensured we were able to get the right people to the exhibition, which was held in January 2019 and was attended by neighbours, ward councillors, special interest groups, public and other stakeholders. We also produced a consultation website which encouraged a large amount of constructive feedback and, combined with the exhibition, informed the final plan which was submitted to the city council.
