Exeter College wanted to sell one of its outlying locations so it could reinvest in state-of-the-art 3G sports pitch and facilities in Exwick, which were closer to its city centre campus.
It hoped to secure planning permission for the disused site prior to selling it, and commissioned KOR to support this process.
We set up and managed a project website and engaged with the community, local authority and stakeholders, as part of the subsequent public consultation. Our team also liaised with the local media to secure positive coverage for the proposals and to ensure local people were aware of them.
An outline planning application for the development of up to 101 houses, a new sports pitch and changing facility, public open space including children’s play areas, was approved in December 2016.
KOR also supported the college’s consultations on plans for its new sports facilities at Exwick, which went on to secure planning consent.
