KOR was commissioned by Clinton Devon Estates to stage a live online broadcast to celebrate the East Devon Pebblebed Heaths being declared a National Nature Reserve by Natural England.
The Estate had been forced to cancel its original plans due to the pandemic and so we needed to come up with an impactful and engaging alternative that was fitting for such a major announcement and conveyed the stories behind the declaration.
Our team combined its extensive live TV broadcasting experience with technical and digital expertise to craft a live broadcast which we planned and produced from the opening titles to the closing credits.
We mapped out a 60 minute programme combining speeches, news packages and an interactive Q&A session with special guests from Natural England, Chair Tony Juniper and Chief Executive Marian Spain. We researched and sourced a suitable online platform, devised a carefully structured running order, drafted scripts and liaised with our host, RSPB Chair of Council Kevin Cox.
Working with our partners at Rekord Media, a series of short films were also produced with their licenced drone pilot recording stunning aerials of the Heaths, while colleagues on the ground captured shots, interviews and editorial photography.
On event day the programme was broadcast live to invited guests and produced and directed by our in-house team, with a recording later uploaded to YouTube.
Our work on the launch was awarded Silver in ‘Best Use of Content’ in the South of England and Channel Islands PRide Awards 2021, by our industry body the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
Please take a look at the NNR launch broadcast and get in contact with us if you have an event or project that might benefit from a similar approach.
