National Nature Reserve live launch broadcast and multi-media campaign scoops top industry award

Our live broadcast and multi-media campaign launching England’s newest National Nature Reserve (NNR) in Devon, has won a top industry award.

We produced an hour-long programme on behalf of our client, Clinton Devon Estates to mark the designation of the East Devon Pebblebed Heaths NNR by Natural England. The live broadcast was hosted by RSPB Chair of Council Kevin Cox and with special guests from Natural England, Chair Tony Juniper and Chief Executive Marian Spain.

It’s fantastic to have been recognised for designing and delivering the event, with supporting videos, print and digital materials, with a Silver Award in the ‘Best Use Of Content’ category at the annual Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards, for the South of England and the Channel Islands. The awards recognise outstanding work delivered by PR teams across the UK over the past two years.

Our team devised a programme of content, which included short films, interviews, photography, the production of a commemorative magazine, targeted social media and traditional press coverage. Activity culminated in a prestigious one-hour live online broadcast event which was produced and directed by our skilled in-house team.

Managing Director, Annette Richman said:

With the online event, we approached it as we would a news programme, designing a carefully structured running order to strike the right balance of content. From the outset, we wanted to ensure it stood out from the webinars so many of us have become used to in recent months. Above all, it was essential the content we produced could be used across multiple channels.

Annette added: “The Heaths already holds a number of designations which reflect its international importance for wildlife and biodiversity. With more and more people using the space for exercise and relaxation, particularly during lockdown, our role in highlighting the value and fragility of the site to a wider audience was crucial, to ensure it is respected and protected.”

The reaction to the event was extremely positive, with the reach extending far beyond those invited to attend and attracting widespread press coverage.
