Libraries Unlimited is a new and independent staff and community owned charity, and is an example of an entirely new model for library services.
To support the new charity and raise awareness of its activities and services, KOR has worked with the team to deliver proactive communications to targeted outlets across the region.
Established in April 2016, the charity is responsible for running Devon’s public library service, Devon Libraries, managing 50 libraries across the county as well as prison libraries, 4 mobile libraries, Fab Lab and the Business and Intellectual (IP) Centre in Exeter Library.
Libraries Unlimited required professional, high quality communications for an initial 6-month period as it established itself as a new social enterprise delivering library services across Devon.
KOR worked alongside the team to produce a comprehensive communications strategy, including key messages, aims and objectives and evaluation criteria. KOR then implemented a communications timeline, writing press releases, newsletters, running social media accounts and digital marketing campaigns, as well as providing photography and internal communications support.
Between September and December 2016, the following results were achieved:

- Readership of 312m
- 355k coverage views
- 397 social shares
- 42m circulation
- 78.1% increase in Twitter followers
